I visited the British Museum last time I was in London, but Dan had not. So I went back. Here is the main reception area. Still impressive as ever.

London Calling
The hustle and bustle
and the daily rush.
Whether travelling through the underground,
or visiting the parks
found all around.
From the wondrous sights of the West End
to the tolling of
the famed Big Ben.
Visiting the Queen at Buckingham Gate.
And having a pint
with my favourite mate.
One thing which can make me sigh,
visiting the Thames
and the London Eye.
The sound is not of the Bridge falling,
but what I hear
is London Calling.

London - Day 4

Everyone kept telling me as long as I was in London I HAD to watch the changing of the guards. I wasn't initially keen on this idea, hearing about the large crowds. So I gambled and went early, just to say I've been there.

I almost wondered if I was in the right spot, there didn't seem to be a very big crowd. Or perhaps I just arrived too early?

Sure enough I was about an hour early. The only draw-back was waiting, but on the positive side I was right on the gate, providing me opportunities for some great photographs.

Must be getting close to the time. More people have arrived.

The changing of the guards has begun. I was unprepared for everything to take place.

In order to oversee the crowd you needed to get an a 'high horse'.

Some pomp and circumstance, just to get started.

All this to change a few guards?

We now have a parade heading towards Buckingham Palace.

Taking a picture from the gate, look how many people are here now. Maybe it's good to arrive early.

Not sure if the people in back could take pictures this close. Look how serious they all are.

I had to take a closer look at the medals.

The guards have now been changed. I guess it was worth it to take a few pictures, but next time I won't feel the need.

It was noon so I took the Underground to get away from the crowds and do some street walking. Looking for areas of London less travelled on by tourists.

How funny I ran into a Police Box. I didn't realize they were still in use.

Such interesting colours on these houses. I guess someone likes pink.

Another street less travelled on. I was looking for areas to take pictures of, not seen by the typical tourist. Walking the neighbourhoods close by gave me that feel.

London - Day 1
I was too frazzled and awestruck at Heathrow, but once I arrived to Paddington Station I was more relaxed. I took a quick shot of the inside of Paddington.
The first picture I took of the London streets. After stowing my luggage at the B&B I grabbed my camera and travel money and headed out alone, to explore.
The view just outside Harrod's. Notice the elephant, I found a million of those all over the city. See if you can spot more.
The view just inside Harrod's. Statues of Diana and Dodi at the top of the stairs, and beyond that a book to sign or leave your comments.
One of the confectionery stations on the ground floor.
What's a trip to London without picking up some tea? Harrod's has a large selection of tea and coffee. Something for everyone.
Leaving Harrod's for the day, the crowds have not abated. And look, another elephant.
I took one last look of Harrod's before heading to my next destination.
I thought the Underground was pretty cool. Loved how clean it was. Mind the gap.
Waiting for another 'Underground' train. I love the brick work and the grass between the tracks.
When you think of London, you naturally think of Big Ben. Or to be more precise, the clock surrounding Big Ben. As any good Londoner knows, Big Ben is the name of the bell, not the clock.
As I was taking familiar pictures, what's more iconic than a red London phone booth?
I don't recall the building here, but do you see what's in the distance? Yes, that would be the London Eye. No worries, I get back to that on a later day.
Admiralty Arch, in between the Mall and Trafalgar Square
As if you couldn't tell, one of the lions in Trafalgar square.
Looking out towards Big Ben from Trafalgar Square.
One last look towards Trafalgar Square before heading 'home' for the night.
