This year I've decided to do something different. My theme is going to focus on vintage television show theme songs. I won't be selecting such shows as Big Bang Theory, Survivor or CSI. No, these shows are still very much with us. I'm talking about the shows we seldom see on TV any more. The shows we grew up with. The shows we may have forgotten about. Or the shows so old, some of us may not have even heard of them.
Unfortunately, I have been low on funds, so it's possible each day's post may be brought to you by different products. Products such as Quisp Cereal, Apple IIe Computers or Lite Beer from Miller. Who knows? There may even be a few surprise celebrities hawking these products.
Additionally this year, I will be helping to keep the A-Z list updated. So if you sign up, make sure you work on your theme every day. But above all else, remember to have fun!
Hi Jeffrey - so good to see you doing old tv programmes - they'll almost certainly be new to me ... being a Brit. Good luck with the challenges and thanks for helping out with the admin ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteYou may be surprised to find a few English theme songs and/or adverts. So keep your eyes open. :)
DeleteThat will be a fun theme! There are some old and obscure themes out there.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you being a Ninja Minion.
I will be using some great familiar theme songs/commercials, but yes I will also be looking for some old and obscure entries as well. I'm hoping this to be fun for everyone who stops by. I've even got the majority prepped and ready to go.
DeleteSounds like a fun idea, hopefully I'm completely in the dark and don't recognize any of your subjects. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping each familiar one will be fun and nostalgic for people, and all the unfamiliar ones, will be interesting to watch.
DeleteHi, Jeffrey!
ReplyDeleteAs a baby boomer, I wanna testify that your theme is right up my alley. I look forward to revisiting vintage TV series of the past and remembering their catchy theme songs. I also love those classic commercials. Is it a good idea to eat a Sloppy Joe while you're bopping to the beat? :) I remember Moonlighting. During its run in the 80s it was must see TV and I once borrowed characters from it for a TV commercial I produced for a video rental store.
I look forward to your April marathon, good buddy Jeffrey!
I loved Moonlighing, indeed, it was must see TV. And I loved the theme music. I want to see that commercial for the video store!!!!
DeleteBrilliant theme Jeffrey~! :) I'm excited for April to get here. I think we'll have fun doing similar themes. Great idea with the classic commercials. I cracked up at the Sloppy Joes spot!
ReplyDeleteAs a minion, are you on John Holton's team? I think I saw your name there... or maybe not. I'm working for him. It's going to be a busy month being both an A-Zer and a minion! Plus there's two BOTBs in there as well. Wowsa, we'll be glued to our computers for sure. I'm just glad I got my taxes done!!
Michele at Angels Bark
I'm of two minds getting the second BOTB for the month done. I may have to give that a miss, because that's the weekend I'm going to be out of town. Partially the reason most of my A-Z posts are already ready and queued for publishing.
DeleteAs for the minion thing, I'm still working to get that all figured out. I need to sit down tonight and go over all the emails.
I remember Moonlighting fondly :) I look forward to all the other memories you bring back with your posts.

I'm hoping to create some new memories with a few real rare clips.
DeleteVintage TV theme songs. That'll be a fun one! Oh, and I emailed you on Saturday for the S Post promo. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I received the email. I shall have that prepared for my S entry. Thanks for the reminder. I hope you enjoy the A-Z vintage list.
DeleteFun theme! I'm helping out with the list this year, too. Blogger power! I am just about to start on R, so mine will be all prewritten. March is always a tough month because I always write my blog a month in advance and that usually only means there posts a week. Six posts a week is double!
ReplyDeleteI've been pre-writing mine as well. I'm only up to G. I'm hoping you will like the theme songs. A lot of the ones I used, I'm sure you will remember as well. Same for the commercials.
DeleteGood theme!
ReplyDeleteThanks Doe. I hope you like the music and the funny commercials I will use.
DeleteYou might get a "You Rock" award from Captain Ninja for helping out when the Challenge is all said and done. Personally, I'm looking forward to the A to Z blogfest but I'm sure we will all be melted at the end, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYes, last year was my first and I was completely spent by the end of it. I needed almost all of May to recoup. We'll see how it goes this year.
DeleteWhat a fantastic theme! I already know I'll enjoy ;-) I forgot all about the Moonlighting song, even my cat knew to run downstairs at the sound because grandma would be having ice cream and would always share!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute about the cat. Moonlighting was such an interesting show, it even caught my attention. The initial romance/comedy didn't capture my interest. But the crazy antics is what did.
DeleteVery funky theme selection. I may be able to answer title for title with some interesting tidbit.
ReplyDeleteFather Nature's Corner
I hope you find it entertaining.
DeleteI remember when Bruce Willis had hair! I used to watch Moonlighting all the time. This sounds like a really fun theme. Looking forward to your April posts.
ReplyDeleteMary @ Jingle Jangle Jungle
I'm hoping my theme this year entertains everyone. Nostalgia is always fun.
DeleteThis is going to be fun! And I like the added twist of the commercials. Want to say thanks for helping maintain the list. Life & Faith in Caneyhead
ReplyDeleteIt'll be a busy month, but a fun and rewarding month. :)
DeleteThis should be lots of fun! ☺ Moonlighting was a good show. Nice to see Bruce with hair again. The Sloppy Joe's commercial was new to me, but obviously mid 60s vintage. Congratulations on your Ninjahood! Sounds like a lot of extra work. Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like the 60's commercials. I've been trying to find really old vintage commercials. I'm not setting myself to any one decade for the challenge. I think this will be a theme everyone can enjoy.
DeleteIt's always fun to see old commercials, TV show themes, etc. Nostalgia! ☺ Great theme idea, Jeffrey.
DeleteLove your theme! Looking forward to keeping up! :) (kg)
ReplyDeleteHope it will be entertaining and fun. :)
DeleteI love it, Jeffrey! You've featured some really cool nostalgia songs in your BoTB posts, so I'm sure the April series will be fabulous. I'll look forward to visiting!

It's going to be a frantic month. Still trying to figure out the entire minion duties, but I think I shall have it figured out. I need to go back and check all the emails.
DeleteJeffrey, whew doggies! Your theme is going to be fabulous, I can feel it! It'll be a blast to take a look at vintage TV shows. In my opinion that's some of the best programming ever. Sounds like you and I are kinda on the same page here, except I'm doing All Things Vintage, but who knows I might slip in some old TV programs, too. That thought did cross my mind. I'll be popping in and out to see what you're sharing in April, my friend. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love vintage, so as I said before, I'll be checking out yours too. Have a great April!
DeleteHere... it.... comes!!!
Hi, your theme sounds super! A serious nostalgia fix, what's not to like? Good luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Nilanjana.
Madly-in-Verse
Thanks, same to you. Your poetry lymric challenge sounds like fun.
DeleteGreat theme, but I think it will be hard to find a theme tune catchier than The Big Bang Theory ;) Good luck, hope to you around in April!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Stop in during the month of April and see if I indeed find a theme song catchier than the Big Bang Theory.
DeleteThis should be a lot of fun! See you next month!

I think I saw a similar theme on another participating blog. Good if two people are writing.
