This was the draw of the fair this year, 'Deep Fried Butter'. No I didn't try it. But from the people I talked to, they said it tasted like it sounds.
You'd think a simple potato would be a very nutritious alternative to the rest of the Fair's food choices. Then add butter, sour cram, bacon bits and suddenly you realize, not so much.
Another one of my yearly traditions. Mexican corn. Add to that, butter, mayo, grated cheese and cayan pepper. Try it! You'll thank me.
It's almost a rule, you can't leave the fair without having a cream puff. After the first two food items, I decided this was going to be it. Maybe next year I'll break the law and not order one.
My sister sent this photo to me. It's a picture of my niece Mykala just having won a cream puff eating contest. So funny.

My Toys As A Writer
One of my favorite pieces in my collection is this antique Underwood Typewriter. Back before computers, this was the way stories were written. These were a hot item early in the 1900's, can you believe someone was just going to throw this away?
Once electric typewriters became more prominent, computers also began to get more economically priced. Even better, it gave writers the ability to save and backup everything they've written. This computer was a hot item in the 1980's.
New and old. From an old style typewriter to a modern day laptop computer, a writer has many tools at his disposal. If you are a writer, what do you use to get your writing done?
Three generations of writing tools. Grandpa, Father and Son.

the Pond
Like crystal, smooth
all is at peace.
A pebble – ploop:
ripples shifting, changing.
A fish jumps, a duck lands,
the pond stills.
Quiet again –
smooth, like crystal.
