I beg the last
of this year’s snow,
to view the blossoms
why don't you go?

My heart is hardened
by your frosty air,
a cold hard slap
of contemptible despair.

You leave your mark
as a sign of disgrace,
so I turn my back
stand against your face.

So my frozen dreams
and heart undone,
can burn again
under the Summer Sun.

Racing Dream

Past the others I will zoom.
Many love to watch me scoot.
Quickly speeding in my dream.

Riding in my full costume,
leather jacket and snake-skin boot.
Some consider too extreme.

Racing leads to other's gloom.
My winning, there is no dispute.
Once again I reign supreme!

Pigs

Stopping briefly at the traffic light,
I spot a discarded bottle of Sprite.
Looking again there's a torn rag,
and floating in the air a Wal-Mart bag.
Some discarded moldy, uneaten food,
or maybe the remains of an upset mood.
Ten or so, different colors of gum,
along with a transients empty bottle of rum.
Several more litres of various liqueur,
a McDonald's Big-Mac Styrofoam container.
The offender assumes his trash isn't big,
but they all add up, you little pig!

Cooking Vegetables

R.a.n.t. of week of 04/28/13

Brussels Sprout, Spinach, Cabbage,
Corn, Carrot, Cauliflower,
Broccoli, Cucumber, Summer Squash

Just a few of the 'vegetables' I really enjoy.

Most of these are put on the side of whatever one is making:
Pork, Steak, Fish - along with a side:
Rice, Noodle, Potato

I think this would hardly classify me as being a picky eater.
And yet, I'm forever known as a picky eater. Why?

Everyone has a few foods they hate for various reasons. I'm not talking about hating peanuts because of an allergy, or wheat. I mean foods that are disgusting. The list of vegetables above are foods I've noticed many people claim they hate. Number one on the list seems being brussels sprouts. But I love them! So why are the people who hate those foods not picky eaters, but I am? Mostly because the foods I happen to hate are what I like to call 'cooking vegetables'. Mushrooms, whole tomatoes, peppers, onions, onions and ONIONS.I find these foods disgusting, and yet it seems everyone loves to put these items in everything. Potatoes, rice, peas, noodles, casseroles, pizza, the list goes on. One of these days I swear I'm going to find Onion Cereal in the store..

What I've found though, it's not so much the taste of these foods, it's more the texture. Mushy mushrooms, pitiful peppers and terrible tomatoes do not enhance a dish for me. I don't always mind the flavour, but the texture annoying. Except onions. I hate onions in almost any form. I have been known to eat a few onion rings in my time. But mostly because the thing is so breaded and the fryer has pretty much dissolved the onion beyond recognition. But as a rule I don't eat these rings of O, even after a few I begin to notice the disgusting flavour shine through.

Soda Pop

Boss called me in,

I'm in for trouble.

Bad social skills,

I'm on the bubble.

The other staff,

really wonders.

What's the deal,

with bodily Blunders?

Don't they know,

I love my Pop.

And belching is fun,

how can I Stop?

an unknown alien, vicious attack.

Saving the ship is ensign Wesley,

all before his noon-time snack.

Brontosaurus

The Apatosaurus was very cross,

as you'll notice - full of rage.

Stomped his feet down in a huff,

it was not 'bout his ancient age.

Really he just had a tiff,

he longed to one day procreate.

But all the ladies ran and hid,

in part because his massive weight.

He never had a lack of trying,

always tried to say hello.

Then off they went so hurriedly

why did he have to be so slow?

Really though, he was a clod,

a reason they would not succumb.

He bragged about himself a lot,

that dino was so very dumb.
