Making room for them (by deleting ones I genuinely LOVE) was the hard part.

Fortunately, I've done this two or three times before, so my core list is pretty well established, but each time I need to make a few adjustments - trying to get some new favorites on the list - and it's agonizing to try figuring out which ones I can bump off from my previous list.

This time I really wanted to get 'American Graffiti' and 'Crossroads' on my list, but I reached a point where I literally couldn't delete any more without undermining the word "FAVORITE" in the list's title.

It's very tough, and the more one loves movies and the more movies one has seen, the tougher it is. Me, I'm big into movies and love so many classics "In Glorious Black & White", so for me, it's probably like it is for BIRGIT - we have a huge pool to draw from and narrow down. Agonizing!

Thanks again, Jeffrey! Your participation is greatly appreciated.

~ D-FensDogGStephen T. I've been fairly busy blogging myself. BotB and the Listing hop are taking a lot of time to do together. I have even been trying to make it a point to visit everyone on the listing hop list. I'm only about half way through. Then of course, I'm trying to keep my own R.a.n.t. series alive, but have had to adjust my schedule so I'm only doing it once a month instead of twice a month.
When making the list, I can't tell you how much it hurt to cut certain movies out. I really don't get out to the theatre very often, but do enjoy watching my favourites over and over.Jeffrey Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06973104877310669196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4688586956638235216.post-82129243840136896012015-11-07T15:57:19.892-06:002015-11-07T15:57:19.892-06:00POSTSCRIPT: I just need to know what state you'...POSTSCRIPT: I just need to know what state you're living in.

~ D-FensDogGStephen T. I apologize profusely that it's taken me so long to get over here, but you have no idea how busy I've been. What with changing jobs, BOTB, and the LISTING HOP, I've been swamped and way behind on EVERYTHING.

I've recorded your list and will definitely include it in the finished collective list.

You've got a nice selection of movies here, and some I myself love a great deal, starting with BACK TO THE FUTURE...

I had the BACK TO THE FUTURE (Trilogy) on my 1994 and 2004 lists. This time, I was forced to remove it because I needed to put something in its place that I've seen since 2004. And of the 3 or 4 movies I had to delete from my 2004 list, the BACK TO THE FUTURE Trilogy is the one that hurts the most, because I think it's one of the most entertaining movie productions of all time. (I know I'm in the huge minority here, but my favorite of the three was #2 - the one that most fans liked the least).

I've been struggling to get 'AMERICAN GRAFFITI' on my list this time (which is possibly my Brother's all-time favorite), but it doesn't look like I can remove anything else from my 2004 list. But I own BOTH 'American Graffiti' movies, and the first one I have watched countless times. (Well, you probably saw that Terry The Toad was on my list of all-time favorite male movie/TV characters.)

'THE HOLY GRAIL' is a total classic that cracks me up. (Still can't decide which I like better, that or 'THE LIFE OF BRIAN'.) Who doesn't like 'THE PRINCESS BRIDE'? I enjoy just about everything WILLIAM HOLDEN was in - he's one of my Top 5 favorite actors ever - and 'STALAG 17' was on my Pa's 25 Favorite Movies list. (I got Holden on my list with 'THE WILD BUNCH' and 'BORN YESTERDAY'.)

The one movie on your list that I haven't seen but want to, as I have a hunch I'll really like it, is 'BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE'. I've seen some clips from it and it seems like the sort of "dumb comedy" that appeals to me.

Thanks again, Brother, for taking the time and thought to put your list together. It is truly appreciated and duly recorded.

~ D-FensDogG
'Loyal American Underground'Stephen T. Why does time hold us prisoner in the 4th dimension? Its a great line in a review I wrote about this very awesome movie in 2009, I can't recommend enough. The 1960's Time Machine has so many twists, hooks and turns. Totally epic movie. Now Aliens is a completely different animal. It pretty frakking cool when Ripley says - this little girl survived here with zero training and no firepower. And the tough marine, Hudson just flips out bigstyle, LOL. "Well why don't you put her in charge?" Aliens is an epic horror, hilariously satisfying and entertaining all rolled up into one. I didn't want to use all of them because none of the remakes seemed as enjoyable (or I never felt as fond for them). I liked the concept of the Superman II. The first was good, but the whole spinning time back is where I lost interest. Of course the whole "shield" weapon Superman used was dumb too. As for Star Trek, I also loved IV and the Next Generation: First Contact. I don't think I included Groundhog Day, but it may have gotten an Honorable Mention. I also liked Unbreakable a lot. The Wrath of Khan is my favorite of the "old" Star Trek movies. Interesting that you chose Superman II out of that trilogy. I remember the first one really well because we had HBO at that time and it played a lot. The others are more fuzzy for me.
