I am unfamiliar enough with horses that I don't know if that is a common characteristic for a horse or something totally peculiar to Lando. Funny and cute! I,too, love the black and white shot of the barn. Very cool! Looks like you had a fun time! I have one pet, her name is Evee. She's a border collie. We picked her up at 10 months from her first owners, who decided they couldn't deal with her. She is very energetic and precocious. We just kept the name they had given her. We've had her for 6 years now. My friend was afraid to confront the neighbour so he took the rabbit, cleaned it off as best as possible and went back to the neighbours yard and put the rabbit back in the cage. The next day his neighbour asked if he heard about his pet rabbit. No, my friend quickly replied. What happened? The neighbour then told him how the rabbit had died, but someone dug the rabbit up after they buried it, and put it back in his cage.

Hopefully the story above isn't what happened to you. Kate certainly lives in a beautiful place ... and it must be great for you to be able to see her and her beloved horses more often ...

I don't have animals now .. but love seeing them around and just being out in the countryside. My sister in law has taken up with horses and a carriage for carriage riding and she helps out with Riding for the Disabled. I LOVE LOVE LOVE horses! ...Great pictures of Lando! I LOVE LOVE LOVE horses! In fact I was just visiting some horses last week. My friend Dawn has a horse and she boards him at this amazing stable. I took some visiting relatives out to see all the horses. They have about 60 of them on this property and many of them are show horses. We took bags of carrots and apples and fed them all. Horses are magnificent beings!

Great artsy shot too! Love B&W photography.

As for my pets: I have two greyhounds, Picasso & Luca. They are the loves of my life. Luca came with his name and I didn't change it. It suits him. Picasso came to me as Captain Flax (his race name). After having him for a few days (I was dogsitting him while he was in foster-care and fell in love so I just had to adopt him!), I decided to rename him. Back then he was all black and the only white on him, besides his chest, was this little white stripe down his nose. It looked as though someone had taken a paint brush and brush-stroked that line down his nose so I decided to call him Picasso. (You can see him and all my greyhounds in the header photo at my blog) You can barely see that white line now as its hidden in his graying muzzle. He's 8 years old now and getting really gray. I've had 6 greyhounds before Picasso and Luca that are sadly waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge. I miss them so...but they visit me often in my dreams and for that I'm grateful...

Great post and pics here. I bet you had a great time visiting Lando. He's a very pretty horse...

Michele at Angels BarkMichele at Angels Bark https://www.blogger.com/profile/15891713963440451090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4688586956638235216.post-28824062135022732492016-01-25T16:12:57.965-06:002016-01-25T16:12:57.965-06:00At every photo op, I keep my eye open for somethin...At every photo op, I keep my eye open for something interesting to photograph.Jeffrey Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06973104877310669196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4688586956638235216.post-64415039204184101962016-01-25T16:04:24.528-06:002016-01-25T16:04:24.528-06:00I wondered if that was where Lando got his name.

Still, its cold up there - I'm in northern CA but in the valley.

I have cats. Sometimes fish, I really miss my tank. I never name my fish, but I'm a cat lady! I pick names to fit the cat, either based on looks or personality. My latest one is Tribble - that little ball of fur just looked like trouble, just like his Star Trek namesakes, and he has lived up to the name. My kids call him Thirteen, just cuz he's all black. So now he's The 13th Tribble, just to keep peace in the family.
